Welsh Highback Chair

This is a small wood engraving of a Welsh Highback Chair. The light comes from behind the chair on the left and illuminates the floor in full and the wall partially, casting a shadow on the floor and the seat. The chair was inspired by the beautiful examples of Welsh Stick Chairs that still exist today.

The image measures 50mm by 83mm and is printed on paper of approx. 160mm by 240mm.

I designed this print myself, engraved the end grain block with burins and printed it with Caglio ink on Simili Japon paper.

As my works are fully hand printed, each print is unique and individual.

All prints are hand numbered and signed, in a limited edition of 50 pieces.
