Candle

This is a small woodcut of a candle, carved into a block of birch wood and hand printed on Simili Japon paper. It measures 67mm by 89mm and is printed on paper of 16cm by 24cm.

The candle illuminates its direct surroundings and the flame, in an otherwise dark room, makes the candle visible and casts a shadow. A small piece of candlewax drips from its side.

The print was designed by me and carved with edge tools, and hand printed with Caglio ink.

Each print is hand numbered and signed, in a very small edition of 9 prints.
